Meet RS

At Refugia South, our team is united by curiosity and deep exploration of the ecological diversity and cultural ties to water that define the Southern landscape. Many of us grew up exploring these forests, rivers, and wetlands— kayaking and fishing estuaries, hiking longleaf pine trails, or simply savoring the quiet beauty of a cypress swamp. This firsthand connection instills in us a profound respect for the region’s unique biodiversity and the heritage it sustains.

Our collective expertise spans ecological engineering, ecology, landscape architecture and design, stewardship and conservation, and fostering meaningful outdoor experiences. Each team member brings a unique perspective and specialized skills, enabling us to approach restoration challenges with both scientific rigor and creative vision. We are passionate about sharing our love for the outdoors and helping others forge their own connections to these remarkable landscapes.
